Lush greens and a contemporary, modern courtyard…You are truly entering a different place at the Cannon Green wedding venue. The journey continues within, as it appears that you move between cultures and region as you walk from room to room. From a Caribbean atmosphere in the palm-lined courtyard, to dinner in an almost Mediterranean ambience to the spacey, historic industrial Trolley Room. What we love most about this wedding venue is the elegant, contemporary elements combined with the lush greenery. The diversity of the space and individual character of each area makes this venue quite a unique experience and just perfect for an extraordinary and intimate wedding.
Boarding a yacht always prompts an exclusive feeling. If it is a $3.5M private yacht prepared as a luxurious wedding venue, ready to cruise through Charleston harbor, it is a unique and immersive experience.
Gorgeous views of the cityscape, with the lights twinkling on the water as the day fades into evening. All interior and exterior color pattern are stylish aligned and provide you an authentic, luxurious marine ambience. The right choice if you want to make your wedding an exclusive, high-class experience!
Looking at pictures of the venue before seeing it in person, we were wondering if it’s actually in South Carolina or somewhere at the Mediterranean Sea. After a scenic 45min drive from Charleston we arrived at a black iron gate. The gate opened and we slowly drove the narrow path towards the Manor house. Following the tree-lined path towards the estate it leads you past ponds on each side filled with water lilies. The sun is shining through the Spanish Moss and the tree-tops, which makes you feel like truly entering the garden of Eden.
Let me tell you, our excitement didn’t stop while touring Eden at Gracefield with Laura. The Manor House truly gives a Mediterranean vibe along with elegance and minimalistic design. All houses on the property have been renovated with a great attention to detail, exclusive materials and creativity. They can be rented all together or individually which offers flexibility and the opportunity to make this the best wedding weekend of your life.
We LOVED the newly built Event Barn, with its impressive open ceiling, which provides everything you need for your dream wedding. Rentals, stage, an outdoor bar and fireplaces, upstairs bridal suite, only to name a few features. It combines indoor and outdoor spaces and allows a lot of natural light to come in, due to multiple big barn doors along each side. In Conclusion, we have been really impressed by Eden at Gracefield, from a wedding as well as interior design perspective, and can't wait to be back!
The Planters Inn is a luxurious boutique hotel located in the heart of Charleston's historic district. If you're looking for a charming and intimate wedding venue, the Planters Inn boutique hotel offers a romantic and elegant setting and is a perfect choice for your special day. The hotel itself is housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century building, which adds to its charm and character. One of the things that sets the Planters Inn wedding experience apart from other venues is its emphasis on intimacy. Something you will immediately realize entering from busy Market Street.
The courtyard is definitely one of our highlights of this charming hotel. From the moment you step into this oasis with its lush greenery, you'll be swept away and feel completely at ease in this tranquil setting. A splashing fountain, amazing semi-circular arches - it does not need much in addition to make this a stunning location for your wedding. And we love how the copper carriage lanterns enlighten the courtyard at night.
The Planters Inn is a perfect place to host a romantic wedding with family and friends in a private atmosphere, including an award-winning restaurant, the Peninsula Grill, which serves up delicious seafood and steak dishes.
As soon as we stepped into the Francis Marion Hotel, we were immediately struck by the grandeur and elegance of the lobby. The Francis Marion Hotel is a historic landmark in Charleston and it's easy to see why. The exterior is a beautiful blend of neoclassical and Renaissance Revival styles that transport you to another era. The soaring ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and intricate details of the architecture all combined to create an impressive first impression.
As we made our way up to the different ballrooms, we couldn't help but notice the attention to detail in the decor and furnishings.
Each ballroom of the Francis Marion Hotel is spacious and tastefully decorated, offering individual options for different sized wedding celebrations. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are transported to a bygone era of elegance and refinement, providing a perfect base for your individual wedding ideas and creativity.
In conclusion, the Francis Marion is a remarkable space that is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone fortunate enough to experience it.
If you're looking for a wedding venue with a rich history and a stunning waterfront view, look no further than the Historic Rice Mill. This Charleston gem has been standing since 1861 and was once a vital part of the city's rice industry. Today, it's been beautifully restored and transformed into one of the most sought-after event spaces in the region.
From the moment you step inside the Historic Rice Mill, you'll be transported to another time. The space is full of original features, like the exposed brick walls and wooden beams, that give it a rustic, industrial feel. But it's also been updated with modern amenities, like a state-of-the-art sound system and custom lighting, to ensure your wedding is as comfortable as it is beautiful.
Of course, the real star of the show at the Historic Rice Mill is the view. The venue is situated right on the water, with panoramic views of the Charleston Harbor and Ravenel Bridge. You can say your vows with the sun setting behind you, or dance the night away under the stars. And with plenty of outdoor space for your guests to enjoy, you can be sure that everyone will have a great time.
The moment we arrived, we were mesmerized by this gorgeous estate and its stunning surroundings. After about 0.5 mile drive through a dreamy forest road, you arrive at a forest glade. A lush green garden, towering trees, and a grand mansion appear perfectly placed here right at the Ashley River. The thoroughly maintained venue provides you with multiple picturesque spots. Plenty of waterfront, a dock, high grass, oak trees, a mansion with beautiful staircases to just mention a few. Naturally as a wedding photographer we love such a versatile wedding venue like Lovegrove!
Lovegrove Estate was nothing short of magical. If you're looking for a wedding venue that will take your breath away and leave lasting memories, then Lovegrove Estate is definitely worth considering!
Note: Being part of the wedding industry we also learned that it is always great to see when style meets functionality. Having a beautiful and purposely renovated bridal suite and a permanent tent coming with your venue is a big plus when choosing the perfect wedding venue.
Hands down our favorite wedding venue in Charleston. This intimate yet absolutely unique estate right by the water lets all your wedding dreams come true. As soon as you drive through the huge metal gate, a majestic, white plantation house appears right in front of you. Surrounded by old live oaks, the 1786 era main estate sits right on the Ashley River. The glass-enclosed portico offers the most amazing view of the water. You’ll experience breathtaking panoramic sunsets, standing on the dock, looking at the water and hearing the wind blowing through the oaks, the Spanish Moss waving above you. Lowndes Grove is definitely one of those downtown Charleston heirlooms that leaves you speechless because of its scenic beauty!
If you are looking for a place to experience the true beauty of nature, then Magnolia Plantation and Gardens should be on top of your list. Magnolia Plantation and Gardens boast of over 60 acres of breathtaking gardens that are a perfect representation of the Southern charm and home to some of the most exotic plants and flowers. This includes a stunning collection of camellias, which is said to be one of the largest collections in North America and features over 20,000 plants! Martin and I have been blown away by the magnificent azaleas building a sheer endless corridor. It is a place that will leave you in awe with its serene surroundings and stunning beauty. And of course, we have the famous, picturesque white bridge.
Besides the beauty of the gardens, one of the best things about a Magnolia Plantation wedding is the variety of venues to choose from with so many beautiful outdoor areas, you can customize your wedding to make it truly unique. Whether you're looking for an indoor option at the Carriage House, a ceremony at the live oak Pavilion or a reception at the Piazza. There's a space that will fit your needs. Overall, Magnolia Plantation weddings are a dream come true for any couple looking for a stunning wedding venue that provides a spectacular nature surrounding.
Oh Parcel 32… You have our hearts. Mainly because we absolutely LOVE modern interiors and Parcel is all about that – but also so much more. With its historic background, the careful interior renovations go hand in hand with a modern and fresh vibe. Many little creative details and twists make this venue a one of a kind wedding destination in the middle of downtown Charleston. And yes, it definitely isn’t a venue for huge wedding parties but with a strong trend to more intimate weddings and elopement this space is simply perfect. Of course not only weddings, but also rehearsal dinners, private dinners and after parties are more than welcome at Parcel 32. Thumbs up!!
The Cedar Room is a very unique wedding venue in Charleston. Unlike others, it was not build as a residential or event space. The entire complex was built in 1881 as a cigar factory and at its peak, the factory was producing more than 400,000 cigars daily. Despite the restoration, it has kept a lot of its original elements. Historic wood columns, gleaming hardwood floors, and rustic brick walls paired with floor-to-ceiling windows, up to 16 foot high white ceilings and interior distressed brick. This difference between old and new, between industrial minimalist architecture and homey decor, which creates a very special atmosphere. A contrast you barely get anywhere else in Charleston.
Light, light and more light. A dream for every photographer and also for us personally. We just love standing in the natural sun-drenched rooms of the Gadsden House — a Federal style Charleston manor originally built in 1798. The heavy natural brick face, visible form East Bay Street, changes almost completely into a bright white façade when you approach the manor from the other side, looking at the two-story Southern piazzas that showcase the lush courtyard gardens. This dream in white and light grey perfectly aligns and creates a very dreamy setup for every wedding. All small details are perfectly aligned to maintain this positive feeling. Pure, shining elegance!
What can we say? The William Aiken House is truly a Charleston Classic, full of history and an absolute gem in the heart of downtown Charleston. Located on upper King Street, The William Aiken House welcomes you into its intimate private and lush grounds and offers an open-air piazza, a collection of museum-caliber artwork and endless options to design your dream wedding. The expansive outdoor covered piazzas overlook the courtyards, the old Magnolia tree and the pergola. Every room inside tells its own story and we couldn’t be more in love. If you are planning an absolute fairytale wedding here you go!
Intimate, homey and elegant with a rustic touch. This would be the best way to briefly describe Surcee’s . Located in one of the oldest houses in Charleston - constructed in 1760 - it retains a lot of its original architecture. Details like the mahogany-coffered ceilings or original fireplaces evoke simple elegance. The dominating brick walls paired with white, golden and wooden elements make a clear statement of class and at the same time give you that comfortable feeling of home.
