We had the pleasure to photograph the Perfect Charleston Elopement, a celebration that epitomized simplicity and elegance. Sara and Josh, who nurtured their love across miles, chose Charleston, a city that holds a special place in their long-distance relationship, as the backdrop for their intimate ceremony. From the outset, they were committed to a truly authentic elopement—one that was simple, uncomplicated, yet exquisitely stylish and memorable. Sara discovered an ideal Airbnb on King Street, which provided a modern yet charming setting for their preparations. The location’s unique blend of historical allure and contemporary comfort perfectly mirrored the couple’s vision for their Charleston Elopement.

The guest list was intentionally kept minimal to maintain the intimacy and focus of the event. Jacob, a close friend of the couple, gladly accepted the honor of officiating their wedding. His wife April completed the small but meaningful guest list, ensuring that those closest to Sara and Josh were present to share in their joy. As the day unfolded and the sun graced us with its presence, we made an impromptu decision to hold the ceremony at the US Custom House. This historic venue, with its grand architecture and rich history, added an unexpected layer of splendor to their Charleston Elopement.

The spontaneity of choosing the US Custom House for the ceremony highlighted the couple’s relaxed approach to their special day. It was a testament to their desire for an event that was not overly orchestrated but flowed naturally, echoing their journey together. Sara and Josh chose to commemorate their Charleston elopement dinner at Halls Chophouse, a restaurant already steeped in personal history due to their engagement celebration held there months prior. The evening was further enriched by the attendance of additional friends, joining the couple to partake in this joyous occasion. The meal itself was nothing short of spectacular, a testament to Halls Chophouse’s commitment to culinary excellence. Culminating the dining experience, Sara and Josh shared a uniquely intimate moment by cutting his & her cakes, providing a sweet conclusion to their meal.
