Indian wedding in Charleston at the Wild Dunes Resort

Indian Wedding

Charleston Wedding celebration at its best

We had an amazing time photographing Binny & Dewang’s Indian wedding in Charleston! The traditional three-day Indian wedding celebration utilized all of the stunning locations throughout the Boardwalk Inn and Sweetgrass Inn at Wild Dunes Resort.

The Mehndi ceremony (a traditional Indian pre-wedding ceremony) was held at the Grand Pavilion that overlooks the beach and included a romantic November sunset. Guests enjoyed drinks and henna tattoo art by the beautifully decorated pool and pavilion.

The next day’s Haldi took place on the beach. During this Indian wedding tradition, a mix of Turmeric (haldi), oil and water are applied to both the bride and the groom to purify and cleanse.

Afterwards, the couple celebrated Sangeet on top of the world – a.k.a., the new Indigo Terrace. Endless views over Isles of Palms and another breathtaking sunset were the perfect way to end day two.

On the last day, which was the actual Indian wedding day, Dewang arrived in a vintage Mustang during his Baraat. The colorful wedding procession ended with the groom picking up his bride. The celebrations that followed took place on the Croquet Lawn with the sounds of the ocean in the background. With the fifth outfit change for Binny, the celebration closed the weekend with a bang at the Osprey Ballroom.
This wedding at the Wild Dunes Resort had it all … We can easily say Binny and Dewang’s wedding was the most colorful wedding we have seen so far. Have a look!
