Thinking back to Rebecca and Adam’s wedding day, out of countless memorable moments, I especially remember two. Both showed the full range of emotions and joy, expressed in completely different but beautiful ways.
The first was with Rebecca, her brothers Zack and Austin and her Stepdad Monty, a memory she wanted captured prior to the ceremony. Honestly, as much as I love the first time the bride and groom see each other, I might prefer the first look between the closest relatives even a little more. They are usually the most emotional moments, lots of tears and showing a really fragile and pure side of the dad who is ‘giving away’ his little girl. And in Rebecca’s case, her dad wasn’t the only one tearing up.
Once she put on her wedding gown…
…she looked like an absolute princess excited to see her family. We positioned her in the corner of the blue room upstairs at Legare Waring house, facing the door. The guys were already waiting with Austin entering first followed by Zack and Monty. All three of them had tears in their eyes as they saw her. You guys, this first look is almost impossible to describe with words. The room was filled with joy, unconditional love and – yes sips of beer…
The other sweet moment occurred later that day!
The ceremony, which was set up under an elegant white tent outside right in front of the beautiful estate, was almost over. Right after the Officiant pronounced Rebecca and Adam as husband and wife, something really sweet happened. Just before the Officiant said ‘you may kiss the bride’, the entire wedding crowd started cheering, clapping and whistling — I have never witnessed a crowd celebrating as loudly and wildly as they did. And I loved every bit of it! Every newlywed couple should be fêted exactly the way Rebecca and Adam were on their wedding day.
It was truly an amazing day and I am so thankful to have been part of it.
