Rebecca + Adam // A beachy, urban engagement sesion

After a late summer break and a two-week road trip through the beautiful northwestern US, I finally kicked of my fall wedding season with Rebecca and Adam’s engagement session. Their wedding is just around the corner in early November and I couldn’t be more excited. They hired the sweetest wedding planner – Yes, Marvyl I am talking about you – and they’re going to celebrate their love at one of Charleston’s finest estates – Legare Waring!

After living in Charleston for nearly four years, I have never been there before – shocking I know! When Rebecca and I walked the venue, it was just jaw dropping – and I have already seen quite a lot in the city. It’s simply gorgeous!!! The historic 1840s home sits in the gardens of Charles Towne Landing and is surrounded by impressive moss-draped oaks. It’s just perfect for a romantic and totally private wedding celebration.

But enough with this little preview (you will definitely see more of that later J) and back to our engagement session. The days prior to the session started with a quite shocking misunderstanding. I texted Rebecca a couple of days before just to confirm the time and location. All she replied was: ‘In clinic. I’ll text you as soon as I’m out.’

I thought something terrible must have happened!

Well, it turned out she just got accepted into dental school and she was attending class. So actually that was good news 😀 Since everyone was in the best of health, we were able to start our Sunday morning session early – kind of 😀 little insider joke 😉 – at the beach right next to Fort Moultrie. We prefer that part of the beach since it gives you a nice view of the Holy City, the Ravenel Bridge and most of the time there are few other people. However this time it also provided us with some challenges starting with a high tide successively taking away our dry place, the sun casting unwanted shadows on Rebecca & Adam’s faces and a super cute puppy that wanted to play with us (and Adam’s socks) instead of going home with its owners. But I am convinced that we nailed it anyway!!

We ended our session in beautiful Downtown Charleston – my absolute favorite place to be. And the best thing about early morning sessions? You still have all day ahead of you. Thank you, Rebecca and Adam for a wonderful morning in my favorite city! You definitely rocked it and I can’t wait for your big day in November.
