You may remember that Molly and Matt’s engagement sessions prompted the cold during the recent winter blast. We originally had planned to start at the battery, right by the water, with the sunrise as the background – super romantic, right?
The moment Martin and I stepped out the car at around 6:30 am, we knew this wasn’t happening. At least if we didn’t plan on ending up as icicles – and no I am not exaggerating at all! An ice-cold wind blew in from the ocean. Since I’m usually more practically dressed than my couples, I totally felt for them!
So, we were anxious to find an alternative. The good thing is that I have shot in downtown Charleston once or twice already so I knew of a couple great spots protected from the wind hiding behind houses and down the right alley 😉 Also, as most of you know, no matter where you go in this city, it’s basically picture perfect.
I usually recommend bringing one or two different outfits to our session so that my couples can change if they want. That day we alternated between coats off and on. And in my opinion, It was not only the most practical, but also a very cute and stylish option.
What warmed my heart this morning was to see how crazy Molly is about dogs. Whenever one passed us – and there are many in Charleston – her eyes and smile got bigger! She immediately fell in love with all of our four-legged friends 😀
I can’t tell you how excited I am for their upcoming wedding in January — they are just the cutest!!
