Jenna and Brian were one of the couples that showed me a part of Charleston I haven’t seen so far. And you know me, I love to discover new spots!
Palmetto Island County Park. This might sound ridiculous to many of you because it’s actually located right in Mt. Pleasant. I honestly have no idea why in almost four years living in Charleston we haven’t visited this park. Long story short, it’s beautiful and totally worth a visit or two. Especially when the first one is so freezing cold that you can’t even move your fingers anymore after the shoot. There is just so much to explore! Even a little water park, but I’ll definitely save that one for summer!
We started with their sweet pup on one of the many docks and then headed over to the observation tower overlooking the marsh and parts of Mt. Pleasant. For the sunset pictures, we drove over to the north end of the park – you can walk, but you have to be out of the park after sunset because they close the gate and I definitely didn’t want to spend the night there.
A long dock connects the park with what is called Nature Island. It’s stunning! Surrounded only by marsh and trees.
Jenna and Brian were so sweet the entire session even though they were both freezing even more than I was – I get to wear warm stuff because I don’t have to look cute while taking pictures. But this is what I love about my job. Different situations and changing circumstances always lead to a new setup. This time Jenna brought a cozy blanket (in their wedding colors!!!) that resulted in some of the cutest pictures.
It was just such a happy and fun session and I already know their wedding will be even more fun and yes – a big party!!
